People who come to Washington soon view themselves are part of the government. Its what they do in DC — fund and enable the ever increasing size of the beast. Conveniently, the beast provides a nice, secure living for them, their families, associates and friends.
The system is good to them and they defend their “home”. ACB will will too.

Thomas never spoiled, neither did Scalia. Alito has been mostly very solid too.
So all outcomes are not dire.
That’s a valid counterpoint. Her association with Scalia is a plus but Washington does funny things to people. Potomac Fever has claimed many victims. ;)
Raising a family in DC where you’re surrounded by intense liberalism poses unique social pressures for principled people.
That said I hope you’re right about her.
