Just wait until you get old enough and take the widely hailed Prevnar 13 shot. I though I had the COVID for four days. Sicker’n shat, 101 fever, body aches, neck pain, headache non-stop, couldn’t sleep, OTC meds couldn’t touch it.
It was real laugh riot.
Regarding recovery - will the boy’s lungs “clear up” over time, or regenerate or something? From the sounds of the x-rays that we heard about in the news early on when Covid first hit, it sounded like it was permanent damage. I hope not.
The problem is that most folks who get the virus have less symptoms than these side effects.
This is a violation of medical ethics—”do no harm”.
My answer to any doc that tries to talk me into a vaccine:
Is the manufacturer indemnified against lawsuits?
(Hint: If the company won’t take the financial risk then I won’t take the health risk.)
Old men (like me) should take this first. After all we are by far the most vulnerable to Covid, and we are the least likely to suffer side effects, especially scary stuff like developmental and reproductive damage.
Indeed, pretty much all of the danger of Covid is taken care of if the only people inoculated are those over 60. The rest do not need it.
And it should never be given to children or fertile women.

Big deal. I feel worse than that after a night of drinking. I won't be the first in line for a vaccine but if I watch it a couple of months and it seems like there aren't any major problems I'll go get it. A day of a headache and fever isn't a big deal.
When I got COVID, was much milder than that.

Agreed. Had my regular flu shot a few weeks ago and had a similar reaction. Been getting senior flu shots for 15+ years and this one hit me good. Just rode it out.
I agree. I’m 64. I work in a hospital ER. So far almost all of the Covid cases I’ve seen have been elderly people.

I’m one and it’s true for me.
Yes,the survival rate certainly is 99.9% for a healthy 30 year old. But for an 80 year old,or someone with a weakened immune system (transplant patients,for example),or someone with COPD it’s a lot lower than that.
