Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) announced a statewide mask mandate on Tuesday for certain indoor and outdoor activities and gatherings as cases of the Chinese coronavirus spike in the Hawkeye State.
Reynolds announced the implementation of a mask mandate as part of a proclamation aimed to reduce the spread of the Wuhan virus. The proclamation requires proper social distancing at any “social, community, recreational, leisure or sporting gathering” and limits group sizes to eight people, unless the group is “from the same household.

I'm sure she is getting a bit skittish now because cases and hospitalizations in the state are up, and she is getting the crap beat out of her in the media. Nursing homes are being hit really hard right now. Of course masks aren't going to help much, if at all, but this will shut up the baying dogs for a bit.

Not if the point of those “gestures” is to condition the people to accept arbitrary, unconstitutional edicts, now and in the future.
But yes, they are useless in terms of having any impact on COVID, along with the incredibly stupid plexiglass everywhere.
People have already been wearing masks. They do not work ot there wouldn’t be spikes.
I know. I laugh at the plexiglass.
They talk like Covid is smart and deadly but it dies at 5 feet 11 & 3/4 inches or if a crowd of 10 drops to 9 and can’t get around a cheap piece of plastic!
I do wish she’d lean on the Medicine and Pharmacy boards to take their thumbs of HCQ prophylaxis scripts for those who are interested. The (often scammed) literature is a mixed bag on whether it works, but is very good on showing the hyped alleged arrhythmias are NOT an issue at the proper dosage. It looks safe and might tide some folks over until they and the vaccine are ready for each other. My bet is it, at a minimum, works much better than the masks.

I guess, but she is somewhat squidgy. I think Grassley will have his son run for his seat when he retires. Unfortunately, we have a lot of such nepotism in the US.
There is still one house seat undecided. Anybody predict how that will go?

LS wrote recently an interesting article on federalism/”states rights” and it reminded me of a SC state senator who was loyal to Union and upon South Carolina’s secession stated “South Carolina too small to be a Republic and too large to be an insane asylum”, while also a really good friend of mine who said he would rather have a government that’s a lil big but is righteous in liberty than a limited government who is tyrannical in evil.
With all theses blant unconstitutional acts in regards to the FUD virus I can’t help but often wonder indeed.
