The question is: will any state delegations have the balls to do it.

According to one article I read, ANY body of state electors can object to the EC votes of another state.

It's buried in this article: article.

...BY LAW, any state body of Electors might instead be influenced to collectively, “object.”

This collective state protest of objection to a president-elect can be rendered at the State House on Dec 14, but also at any time before the reading of that state’s name from the floor of the US House of Representatives. That will be on Wed Jan 6, 2021.

...if any state does object, the vote tally immediately stops and a separate joint session of Congress must then be held to investigate and debate the merits of that state’s objection.

Long story short: ANY state delegation can invalidate the electoral votes of any other state (at least temporarily) and force congress to deal with it.
