BERLIN (AP) — The United States on Wednesday formally left the Paris Agreement, a global pact forged five years ago to avert the threat of catastrophic climate change.

The move, long declared by U.S. President Donald Trump and triggered by his administration a year ago, isolates the United States in the world but has no immediate impact on international efforts to curb global warming.

It has no impact because the US was the only nation that came close to making goal on it...

Good, and the REPUBLICAN senate will have to ratify any new treaty.

Well, we know, if Joe gets to the White House, he will put us back in the agreement “on day 1”.

[Palestinian Authority] PA calls on Congress to pressure Trump

INN ^ | 05/31/19 04:12 | Dalit Halevi
Palestinian Authority (PA) cabinet leader Mohammad Shtayyeh is calling on members of the US Congress to sound their voices in order to save the two-state solution. In a meeting in Ramallah on Thursday with Congressman Eliot Engel, who heads the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Shtayyeh stressed the importance of congressional pressure on the Trump administration to lift the sanctions on the PA and put an end to what he called the “economic war” against the PA. […] Israel, he claimed, has violated all the agreements it signed, and in particular the Paris Agreement (the economic agreement), when it offset the...

Well we certainly can't afford it once Biden opens the borders and we have to pay welfare and healthcare for another 30 million illegals.

0bama and his crooked cronies had obligated The American Taxpayers to finance, to the tune of HUNDREDS of BILLION$, to financing third world, including China and India, environmental cleanup.

BTW, China Joe has pledged to get us back into the Paris Accords!

Paris agreement is the most meaningless pact in recent memory. Each country is allowed to come up with their own standards of what progress is and there is no enforcement mechanism, so it’s just elites feeling good about themselves for declaring that global warming is bad.

I have started asking these ‘climate change’ morons what they think is causing it... Is it pollution?

Then I point out that we may disagree on whether there is ‘climate change’ or not, but we can ALL agree that pollution is bad, right?

That has been having a HUGE effect. Because then you can ask them if they really believe evil republicans WANT pollution? And you get them to start questioning their beliefs.

Because if we can all agree to stop pollution then we don’t need to argue about whether there is climate change or not.

ALSO I then point out that the ‘Paris agreement’ didn’t do anything to stop pollution- it just transferred $trillions out of the USA to pay for other countries who would be allowed to continue to pollute.

If memory serves, nothing really happens if the first world nations never actually go through with sending all that money, but yes, there is no doubt Biden would go ahead and send more.

Biden will do all kinds of stupid things..with that stupid smile on his face...He will likely say jerkier things then Trump ever did...but he will be called a genius.
meanwhile the economy will go in the toilet..
but that still won’t stop the media from telling us how good it all is.

No doubt, even Biden will periodically have to say something without a teleprompter.

IIRC, there’s some clearly contrived mechanism in the “agreement” that keeps this withdrawal from meaning anything if the administration changes. It was something like “to exit the agreement, you have to give formal notification of an intent to withdraw, then wait X years until you actually withdraw, but there’s some more time before the withdrawal is consideres effective... and at any time you can reconsider and immediately come back into the agreement and reset the clock.”

It’s not a treaty, there’s no agreement with any foreign nation that would pass the vote requirements as a binding treaty anymore as divided as the nation is right now. The only thing there is is money and administrative burden.

We were never bound by it anyway; the Senate never ratified the damn thing. Every country in the world knows that’s how we work.

We were never part of the agreement. It was never consented to by the Senate. Obama only pretended we were part, but it was only his signature and any authority ended when he left office.

The best is it doesn’t put any restrictions on China and India. They can keep on increasing their pollution until 2030 or some thing like that. China is the biggest contributor to global warming.
