IOWA — Senator Joni Ernst will return to the US Senate for a second term, according to WHO 13 Insider Jerry Crawford.

Ernst is the projected winner in a hotly contested against Democrat Theresa Greenfield. The race was one of the most expensive in Iowa history. Ernst was first elected to the US Senate in 2014 when she defeated former Congressman Bruce Braley.

Stay with WHO 13 News for continuing coverage of election night 2020 as more races are called and the balance of power in the Washington, D.C. and the Iowa State Capitol are decided.

It looks like the Republicans might gain a seat or two before the night is over.

Looks like we are going to hold the Senate quite easily, at least that means if, God Forbid, Biden wins, his legislative agenda is completely DOA.

He’s currently leading but there is way too much vote out in high population areas that go Democrat to make any predictions - same as with Trump carrying the state. They are tracking the same there.

Great news. The senate is our firewall if Biden wins

The only Fox projection I believe is this one:

Fox News reports that Republicans have a 90% chance of holding the U.S. Senate

Looks like we lose McSally and Gardner but pick up Tuberville in Al and retain RINOs Collins in Maine and Tillis in NC Graham in SC. There is a possible Republican pickup with James in Mich.If we retain the senate and Biden wins, there will be a reprieve on court packing, adding states and breaking the filibuster, and nixing their crazier lefty judge nominations as well as thwarting leftist legislation for at least 2 years
