BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — In North Carolina, 4.5 million ballots have been cast, in comparison to 3.1 million in 2016.

With the second-highest turnout in the state at 68.4% of registered voters casting their ballots early or through absentee, Brunswick County lands at 78,764 compared to 49,361 in 2016.

“That’s an amazing turnout for early voting and on top of that, we’re expecting a heavy election day,” Brunswick County Republican Party Chair Rich Leary said.

Leary says Republicans have the advantage in Brunswick County, with significantly more registered republicans than democrats and more Republicans have cast their ballots thus far.

“Historically in Brunswick County, unaffiliated voters have broken to the more conservative side, broken our way, as high as 65%+ in the past,” Leary said.

Does NC know how many registered voters they have? With nine days allotted after Election Day to count votes in NC, a 110% participation rate wouldn’t surprise me

I saw a Cal Cunningham ad last night....first one in a few weeks actualy.

It was the standard BS of him in uniform, sitting on a FOB somewhere...bragging about his service.

I almost think this pro-Cal Cuningham add is actually more harmful than good to him now that the cat is out of the bag. I just reminds everyone he is an officer who SLEPT with a disabled vet’s wife.

God I hope he loses.

My parents keep a house down there, and it was explained to me
that even the dems in Brunswick tend to be Republican.

He’s such a sniveling PoS. He literally went into hiding for like the last three weeks....just hoping that this whole thing went away.

All while making himself seem like some courageous hero on TV.

I think Chuckey Schumer dumped like 100 mil into his campaign out of DNC coffers too. It would be great to see that cash be wasted.
