These are the first politician I’ve heard and the only ones I’ve read about in over 70 years that promise to raise taxes dramatically and have people come out and vote for them - one would think that those people either don’t pay taxes or are dead. Or plain stupid.

Mondale promised to raise taxes in the 1984 election. "Reagan will raise taxes, and so will I. He won't tell you. I just did."
