It has to be a decisive victory AND he must win the popular vote, to shut up all of the “Not my President crowd.
The following states have signed into law the National Popular Vote for the Electoral College:
WA, OR, CA, NM, CO, IL, DC, MD, NY, DE, NJ, CT, RI, MA, VT, HI.
That’s 196 Electoral votes, if Trump wins the popular vote - and ALL of them are Dem strongholds.
That means that their EC votes would go to Trump.
(But they are Dem states, so I’m not holding my breath - they would likely weasel out of the arrangement.)
The National Popular Vote compact does not take place unless the total Electoral Votes represented total more than a majority.
They call a special session immediately to repeal the Pact.
When President Trump wins the popular vote, I expect that the NPV compact will be dissolved.
