Rass had Trump ahead by 3 points 2 days ago. There is no tangible reason for a 6 point swing. Trump held at 51 so that is probably the more important number.
The Trafalgar’s logic is sound. Pollsters only reach 1 out of a 100 who bother to answer their phone calls and participate. Think about what that means. For a survey with a sample of 500, they need to make 50,000 phone calls. That 1% group are oddballs. 99% won’t participate. Are those 99% who don’t want to be bothered statistically different than those that do? Probably. A lot of conservatives do not want their politics known to strangers for fear of retribution. The 1% of conservatives answering the phones is an oddball group.
This is called non-response bias and it’s a major issue in polling.
