One thing that people here perhaps don’t understand is the EU requires the countries to submit to their dictates. The EU demands that countries accept the number of ‘migrants’ that the EU dictates.
I always figured that is one big reason that Britain voted for Brexit. The number of migrants they have been ordered to accept has caused great problems. Particularly in London.
I don’t even refer to them as “countries” much anymore; they are the “states” of the European Union and have willingly accepted rule from Brussels. England always kept it at arms length (keeping its currency, for example) because it has much stronger cultural and historical ties to the Anglosphere and Commonwealth. They realized the EU was the culmination of Hitler’s dream of a European continent dominated by Germany, and they’d always be junior partner to them.
