Cartoon Network released a public service announcement meant to teach children how to be anti-racist. The one-minute spot used two male cartoon characters one white and one black who discussed marrying each other someday.
Hey, when were older, lets get married! exclaimed a black boy to a white boy in the ad.
But before the white character had a chance to respond, a white female cartoon character interrupts the two boys, saying, you cant get married.
Why not? asks the white male character.
Black people cant marry white people, responds the white female character.
Just then, Garnet from Cartoon Networks Steven Universe appears and says to all three children, Kids, dont be racist, before someone offscreen yells, cut, insinuating that the entire scene was being staged by the cartoon characters, and filmed by other cartoon characters off set.
This is the cheesiest job Ive ever done, stuff like this doesnt actually happen in real life, lamented the white male cartoon character of his acting gig.
Are you kidding? It totally does, said the black boy.
Just because this has never happened to you doesnt mean it doesnt happen, added Garnet.
Im sorry, seriously, I didnt know, reacted the white boy.
Yeah, everyone messes up sometimes, but you gotta realize it hurts to deal with racism, and when people act like its not real, it makes it feel even worse, adds the black boy.
You have to acknowledge racism to work against it, lectures Garnet.
Cartoon Network is not the only TV network...
A few weeks ago, Sesame Street aired a 30-minute special aimed at teaching children and families how to be anti-racist.The special defined racism for young audiences, and urged children to call out others who they suspect of being racist.

WTH is wrong with these people? It hasn't been the 1920's for 100 years. And I'm pretty sure even in the 1920's there were interracial marriages.
Theyre malicious scum thats whats wrong with them
And remember, if you’re even thinking about voting Republican, you ain’t black.
“It hasn’t been the 1920’s for 100 years. And I’m pretty sure even in the 1920’s there were interracial marriages.”
I am not sure there was EVER a Federal law banning interracial marriage and all state laws concerning the prohibition were struck down by SCOTUS in 1967.
Thanks for filling in the blanks. I looked it up, and the first recorded interracial marriage was in 1874. A couple moved from Virginia to D.C. to marry.
So the Cartoon Network portrays females as racist, rude, uninformed, bullying liars.
This misogynistic "Cartoon Network" needs to be closely regulated because of it's dangerous anti woman viewpoint and generation of hatred toward women.
Black people cant marry white people,
Yeah-tell that to the two of my white cousins who have been married to their black spouses for 30+ years-tell it to their kids and grandkids, too-and we are all Hispanic-I guess we are really racist...
People who make ads like this need a real 1st class ass kicking...
These people are ruining everything.
Biden-Harris 2020. Burn it all down.
Even White cartoon characters are portrayed as evil oppressors.
They have to inject accusations of bigotry into the population all over the place in order to maintain their power. They only way they can win, is when all of us are fighting. It is thoroughly disgusting.
The solution? More of us need to pull the plug on our cable, or at least reduce our package to the bare minimum. No more funding of these people against our will.
And the best part is, you will be surprised by how little you miss any of this crap.
