Here Are The Biggest Cases Amy Coney Barrett Will Help Decide On The Supreme Court This Term
Forbes ^ | Oct 26, 2020 | Alison Durkee

Once she joins the court, she’ll provide a crucial vote in a Supreme Court term that will cover everything from voting rights and healthcare to immigration and LGBTQ discrimination. Here are the biggest cases coming up after Barrett’s likely confirmation:

2020 Election: (mail-in voting deadlines in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and North Carolina; dozens of voting rights lawsuits are still playing out in lower courts, and any post-election disputes that arise)

Voting Rights: (ballot harvesting)

LGBTQ/Religious Discrimination: (religious exemption)

Health Care: (whether the Affordable Care Act should be struck down).

U.S. Census (excluding illegals from Congressional apportionment

Mueller Report Materials: (whether House lawmakers can see redacted materials from Mueller’s report, and whether impeachment counts as a “judicial proceeding” that grants lawmakers access to grand jury materials.)

Fourth Amendment: (whether police can enter a suspect’s home without a warrant in response to a suspect allegedly committing a misdemeanor)

Asylum Seekers (Remain in Mexico” policy)

Border Wall Funding (diverting Military funding)

It will be good to have the SC back to 5-4 in the GOP’s favor. If Trump is re-elected, the first thing that should be done is to get Roberts off the bench. He is clearly compromised from the Obama days.

I’m going to guess she has been looking over the cases and reviewing documents so she can start immediately.

Not that its at all likely to happen, but technically, its possible to remove a SC justice through impeachment.

None bigger than halting the theft of votes in those states mentioned. Liberal heads will be a’ splodin’ for sure.

I have a feeling that the conservative justices have been avoiding taking certain cases because they couldn’t be sure of Roberts’ vote.

That will change with Amy.

Not sure why this one even needed to go to this level. Just a little bullet so something must be missing.

At one time rural highways were covered with Impeach Earl Warren signs. Nothing ever came of it.

Roberts isn’t compromised. He’s a progessive-corportist like the POTUS who nominated him. Gorsuch and Kavanaugh are not solid. Let’s hope ACB is Scalia 2.0 because Alito and Thomas are the only conservative votes on the court.

Bet Scalia is laughing and thumbing his nose at those who killed him...

“Roberts isn’t compromised. He’s a progessive-corportist like the POTUS who nominated him.”

I agree. I don’t know why so many people assume he’s compromised. It’s not unusual for Republican appointed judges to drift left. They drift left because they are left.

Assuming Trump picks Breyer’s replacement, it will be 6-3.

Why settle for a Scalia 2.0? I’d rather have a Thomas 2.0.

It is much easier if you try and convict them first. I doubt they are any less corrupt than any other politician.

They're dazzled by their perception of their own brilliance, and that of other members of elite whose approval they seek.

The actual Constitution or the law mean nothing to them.
