The "overwhelming" emotional toll of the coronavirus left an Illinois doctor in tears as she announced the latest number of deaths in the state more than seven months into the pandemic.
"These are people who started with us in 2020 and won't be with us at the Thanksgiving table," Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said before turning her back to wipe away tears during a daily press briefing with Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Friday.

Reminds me of the woman who was the emergency management director for Miami Dade County in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. She was famous for crying and appearing distraught at a press conference - which the media chose to interpret as "Bush administration bad, not helping poor woman". My take on it was "This is the wrong person to be in charge of emergency management!"
If this physician was crying - then she was chosen to appear at that press briefing to layer on an emotional component to the news. This is merely part of the Democratic Party campaign against Trump. Period.

Not quite yet...But it really does bother me that no one is talking about where this virus came from. If you just woke up from a year-long nap and turned on the news, you’d probably think the virus fell out of the sky.

The Illinois governor says sanctions are in store for bars and restaurants that disregard serving restrictions meant to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker said last Thursday that the state faces a COVID-19 surge that could surpass the bleak early days of the pandemic last spring.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot ordered that beginning last Friday, non-essential businesses will have to close by 10:00pm and residents are asked to limit gatherings to six people. The city also ordered some bars to stop indoor service.
Actually the 2019-2020 flu season was worse than average.
And the 2020-2021 flu season just started. There’s never any sizable number of cases outside of flu season. Single digits during the summer for the entire country. Last year we saw an early uptick in flu cases. This year it’s looking like a more normal year.
