Right. Just one state were to secede, California, then the USA political problems would be controlled and resolved. The HOR and the Presidency would be Republican for decades to come.

Under secession states stay in the USA or leave. What part of “entire state” don’t you understand?

Yep, exactly like Russia and China and Soros planned.

We can have negotiated defense treaty after the big split. Better to divide than become a socialist hell hole for all.

If CA were to secede are you going to send my son into CA to die in war that nobody but ignoramuses like you want?

And if California and New York don't want an army and can't afford a defense because their welfare states are going broke and want everyone else to pay like NATO used to do?

Wow, that is NOT a reason to stop a secession.

And the PLA Navy Pacific Fleet would be based in San Diego and SF Bay within six months.

Oh God not this sh!t again. If the PLAN want to have bases in this hemisphere they's pick S.A. Cheaper and easier to buy.

“Revolution”.. the liberals have no idea what that really means. A violent revolution that devolves into a “civil war”.

There would be no front lines.

They won’t be able to hide behind masks and this will drift towards small unit tactics and zones of control.

Neighbor killing neighbor, relatives killing each other. Random violence with complete loss of central control will result. Names and addresses are distributed and then the attacks will occur. The homeowners will die initially, but one or two of them will have been in the military or have a relative in the military.... and then .... then death and mayhem will flow with targets of opportunity and new lists of addresses and names.... and on and on... One violent act begets another. FOR YEARS WITHOUT A BREAK.

Once that dog is unleashed, it will be bloody and won’t be like Call of Duty or Battlefield 5. Nobody gets to reboot. Nobody gets to cry. Nobody will care about feelings and nifty little songs.

Just the rule of the gun.

I can’t even imagine what 1 squad or even 1 fire team of Marines would do in a civilian environment.

One full team of SEALs or squad of Green Berets to train others in small unit tactics/communication/logistics would and should scare the cr@p out of any sane individual.

The lethality of men trained to destroy and with the professional proficiency to do the job is a nightmare.

Even if they were on “my side”, the specter of dead bodies in the street, hung from light poles or highway overpasses with booby traps or snipers using them as bait should have every Antifa/BLM/Hollywood make believe bad-ass curl up in a ball, suck his thumb and change his diaper.

Any veteran that has been in Serbia, Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, knows what a city looks like when this happens.

Have you looked around?

Aside from the lunatics at DU and the old crazies at FR, no one is motivated to “go to war.”

Step aside from the internet and cable news...and people still smile at each other and hold doors open.

The world is not ending. There isn’t going to be a civil war.

Anyway, I went to the gun store yesterday—a box of 9mm rounds was going for $47.95. No one is going into battle for a dollar a round.

I plan to start making my own again. I sell them for $.75 a round (Plus your brass). I will be the new Alfred Nobel.

1) Your nightmare scenario pales in comparison to what the Liberals have in store for us

2) It won’t come to that, more riots and rural Republicans just have to not show up for work and the power will go out and food & water will stop being delivered to their cities and they will turn on each other and/or starve long before they make any organized attacks against us.

All this talk of secession is either harmless venting or complete insanity. Splitting the strongest nation on Earth into a bunch of countries each the size of weak European states is the road to ruin. There’s good a reason why divide and conquer is a time tested and effective strategy. I have to wonder if the Byzantines 1 told themselves “We didn’t need Egypt anyway. Nor the Holy Land, nor Syria, nor Carthage, nor the rest of Anatolia. We still have Constantinople. What else do we need?”
___________________________________
Your position is that the external enemy, (by which you mean Islam as a whole?) is so present and dangerous, that we must not compromise the strength (military?) of this country in the face of it.

Is that enemy truly the clear and present danger that you think it is? For the sake of argument, say I accept that it is, I do not, but anyway say I did, mustn't I also believe that the strongest nation on earth would actually fight that enemy and win? There is no reason to think this except an ideal that we should and we could, but not that we would, especially considering the triumph of the left here.

Another thought to which I would appreciate your reaction, is fear America itself becomes the clear and present danger to the rest of the world. The left is now a threat to liberty in this country, and they can be expected to ally themselves with proponents of Sharia law on the one hand and communists on the other to defeat constitutional justice and the traditional concept of liberty here and everywhere. To continue with your historical analogy, 2 must I suffer the Byzantine tyrant to avoid the Ottoman despot? Must I suffer an Obama, to stop an Osama?!

"Complete insanity", you said. I recognize that you, SoCal Pubbie, 3 are using hyperbole sometimes; that you do not really mean that talk of secession is so foolish as to be like the ravings of a lunatic. Perhaps it is an error to think that the left cannot be defeated. "We cannot beat them, but at least we can go our separate ways." How naïve to imagine that the left will just let us go. Perhaps that is even the wrong thing to do. Better to die fighting than to witness the death of liberty. Perhaps the notion is utterly doomed to failure, but it is certainly NOT insane. It is easier to think of Muslims accepting defeat. A Muslim can accept defeat because he believes that the will of Allah is ultimately irresistible. "Kismet," he says. He does not have to do everything now all by himself. But the Left? Atheistic, socialistic, illiberal, the Left is in our streets now chanting "The time is now!" "If not us, who? If not now, when?"

The Left says the time is now. You are saying the time is not now. Neither insanity, nor harmless venting, this is an expression of urgency, of moral justification, of future option. I can't say that I agree with it, only that I understand it. My personal opinion is that we passed the point of no return long ago; that Murad II is sultan; that we are discussing whether he or his son after him will turn the Hagia Sophia into a mosque.

1. Your historical allusion fails (sorry) because the fall of Constantinople, the rise of the Ottoman Empire, is too complicated a subject for those who know the history, and too remote from the average reader here on our wonderful forum.

2. Perhaps a better analogy is found in WWII. We are told that the Nazis were so terrible, that we were forced to ally with the Soviets to defeat them. Does anyone still believe that? Perhaps many do, but it is not complete insanity to reject it.

3. You are sir a Patriot and asset on this forum. Always enjoying your excellent posts and comments I continue to respect and appreciate your fine participation here!

I don’t necessarily mean that the demise would come at the hands of a foreign military, though that’s quite possible. Would a nation of 80 million and a third of the current American GOP be able to stop a future Chinese hegemony both financial and military? How would trade talks go in that scenario?

It IS insanity to talk about splitting up the country. Does anyone really think the profs at Notre Dame or the University of a Texas are going to abandon their Marxist indoctrination? No way! Is it realistic to think a wall will somehow keep people from moving into these new red utopias? Chopping the country up just makes each part a smaller target.

SoCalPubbie is right. We are a Constitutional Democratic Republic. Federalism still works, when it can be clawed away from the democrats (and not a few rinos). CW, secession, and other talk of splitting up the country are just an extension, even if from a more patriotic viewpoint, of the madness that is going on by a few, but very dangerous thugs. If we had a Congress with guts, bankrolling those few would be a crime. (Technically, it IS a crime, since it amounts to inciting riots). When President Trump wins re-election, hopefully he will drop the hammer on them. He needs both Houses of Congress to be able to do it completely. I believe it can be done, still within the bounds of our Constitution. When the money dries up for the thugs, they will not be so bold, since many of them are doing it just for the money, anyway.
