When President Trump suggested at Thursday's presidential debate that the more than 500 migrant children unable to be reunited with their parents were brought to the border by "coyotes," many on social media were left confused.
Trump supporters pounced on the mistake, mocking liberals who weren't up-to-date on border-area lingo.
Many thought the president was talking about actual animals bringing children across the border -- rather than human smugglers, for whom "coyotes" is a slang term.

Georgia state Rep. Dar'shun Kendrick, a Democrat, was among those who seemed to have been puzzled by the remark.

The weirdest thing I find about all the coyote nonsense is that USA Today actually felt the need to publish a “fact check” on Trump’s statement:
Granted, a few dim bulbs out there (mostly liberal) didn’t get it, but does USA Today really think their readership is so dumb as to require a fact check on the matter? When you read this, I swear you’ll think you’re reading The Onion or The Babylon Bee.
