last ditch effort to convince Republicans to not send the Senate into this death spiral of power politics.

That ship has sailed. Republicans tried to convince Harry Reid not to, but he did it anyway.

And remember that when Harry Reid and Democrats got rid of the filibuster for other presidential nominees in 2013, the filibuster rule still remained for Supreme Court nominees.

At the time of the Gorsuch nomination to the Supreme Court in 2017, Schumer tried to set up the filibuster of that nomination. It was at that point, that the Mc Connell and the GOP did the “nuclear option” and got rid of the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees.

Imagine if the filibuster rule were still there. This nomination would certainly have been filibustered, based on Democrats saying it’s too close to the election to vote on it. And the vote for Amy Coney Barrett would not be happening now.

The point is, Chuck Schumer has only himself to blame, for the chain of events which brought us to this point. He and Harry Reid have only themselves to blame, for deciding to tamper with long standing Senate rules of procedure. It’s the Democrats fault that the filibuster is gone and they can’t stop this nominee.

Exactly. Harry Reid started this whole mess in the Senate.

Like all democRATS, they have short memories, act like they are victims and lie through their teeth.

Approve Barrett and move on. There is nothing in the Constitution about delaying the confirmation vote to fill a SC seat because of a presidential election. They make this shit up. Trump's carried out his end of the bargain by nominating her. Now the Senate needs to take care of their business by confirming her.

The democRATS will never be satisfied no matter what they Republicans do.
