Oh là là.
A French bakery on the South Shore has lost its appeal of a case where it fired a woman, in part, for making a sexual innuendo about a co-worker.
Lindsay Hiltz worked for Boulangerie La Vendéene, a quaint roadside bakery in Blockhouse, from November 2018 until she was terminated July 25, 2019.
She filed a complaint with the provinces division of labour standards seeking pay in lieu of notice as well as pay for unpaid work.
This past May, the divisions director ordered the bakery to pay Hiltz $405.60 -- a weeks pay plus some vacation pay.
Boulangerie La Vendéene appealed that decision to the Nova Scotia Labour Board.
.... With respect to the sexual innuendo, in the conversation at issue (Hiltz) and Ms. Silver were discussing what (Hiltz) believed was a camera, which had been installed outside the workplace. Ms. Silver made a comment to (Hiltz) that she always wiped crumbs off herself out there in view of the device.

They look delicious.
Sounds to me like the manager’ judgment is crumby. Where is his proof. He is clearly operating with half a loaf and kneads to think more about how he treats his workers. Perhaps he is distracted because his girlfriend told him she has one in the oven.
That’s my take on it.
I could care less about the dispute.
Get me them baguettes! (and some brie and wine please).
Innuendo? Inyourendo
This is pretty tame. At a place where I worked years ago, if one of the “ladies” walked in wearing something new, all the other “ladies” would say, “who’d you have to blow to get that?”
They call their extra long baguettes the “John Holmes limited edition”.
Sheesh - it was a joke not a phallus, don't take it so hard...
Wasn't even that good or funny of a joke - would barely get a rise out of me. A comment like that should be the yeast of her worries right now. I wonder if it was worth the dough the bakery had to pay out. Some kind of a mix up in communications whipped up a whole controversy. Kind of a silly dispute no matter how you slice it. The fact that it isn't even a camera is the icing on the cake.
Some of the puns were funny...some were a little “half baked”! Still ... a good show at humor just when we “knead”-ed it!
