no one wants to sit around for hours for their car battery to recharge. Our resident electric car boosters will say that a 10 minute charge will go 100 miles. What they don't mention is that we don't have 350 kW sitting around not being used along the highway. People also don't want to stop for 10 minutes every 100 miles.

Heck, in my immediate area we have 5 major coal-fired power plants closing down soon. And the power companies avoid infrastructure improvement like the plague.
People also don't want to stop for 10 minutes every 100 miles.
