The Existential Questions of 2020
The American Mind ^ | 10/07/20 | The Editors

Posted on 10/22/2020 2:23:17 PM PDT by PoliticallyShort

The greatest question of all concerning 2020 is whether we as a nation still have a desire to settle questions on their merits, by way of representative government, at the ballot box, or whether we wish to be a country where force and coercion rules—and where a permanent political class rules no matter who you vote for, and pulls out all the stops to make extra sure. The last four years have seen much of the bipartisan Washington establishment act as wild-eyed conspiracy theorists, while engaging in first a surreptitious, and now an open conspiracy to ensure the 2020 presidential election does not result in the same calamity as the 2016 election. What we have witnessed is a rolling coup.

As noted, 2020 began with a Potemkin impeachment, just as 2016 and beyond started with Russigate, or Spygate, to be followed by myriad acts of sabotage and subversion by executive branch officials themselves, by legislative and judiciary branch resistance, and a media serving as a conduit for information operations pushed by government officials. All were aimed at toppling a president, and punishing his supporters. Whether we will tolerate such Third World behavior is also on the ballot, and it’s about far more than any one president. It comes down to whether we believe politics ought to be criminalized; whether the weaponization of the national security and intelligence apparatus against political foes is legitimate; and whether the system can withstand threatened insubordination by those who have served at the highest levels of our armed services; or whether power ought to be peacefully transferred.

This author assumes the Democrats have any morals whatsoever, which they do not

They will cheat lie and steal all day long

They think the slander and other depravity of Cavanagh was perfectly OK

They’re actually pissed that they weren’t able to get Trump with the false Russia hoax and the false Ukraine hoax

As it’s been said many times these people are sick in the head

And mostly I’m talking about the media although almost all of the uninformed voters can fit into this category

The only real question is how the socialists are going to lose. Their ideas, over millennia, have been proven to be wrong and harmful for people. In the end, they lose.

The only real question is “how long”. When the conservatives win, will they continue the policies of getting along, reconciliation, peace offering to the other side. Or, with the good people of America send the message, no longer will our cities, run by elected socialists, be allowed to function autonomously, without crippling punishment from the suburban, rural and right thinking urban populace? How long will the information monopolies be allowed to continue to censor content?

How long? Prayerfully, not long.

Democrats think conservatives are evil incarnate and that Trump is Satan. With that mindset they go forward feeling anything they do, no matter how untrue or filthy dirty, is acceptable. Win at any cost has become their ethos. People who think like this cannot be reasoned with and history is filled with wars against such enemies. I’ve come to believe there is no way we can settle this impasse peacefully, and that’s a real shame.

I hope after the dust settles and the smoke clears that people will remember that most of this suck was birthed and fomented in our universities, and they act accordingly.
