I believe you want to see Trump win. But the thing is, you still haven’t figured out how he does it. He could debate like a Romney or a Pence and many conservatives would be happy. But Trump connects on a different level and speaks to people in a more informal way, like you might with friends or family around a dinner table. Millions of people who never vote voted for him last time because he didn’t talk like all the other politicians who have lied to them before, and he came across as authentic and cut to the nub of the problem even if it wasn’t as articulate as some people would like. Trump understood that and clearly made a conscious decision at some point to use his informal speaking style rather than a more polished but stodgier one.
