Ask the people who did not get these checks how they feel about the program.

After two years, then what?

This is a great opportunity to address inequalities for Black and brown people and also additional opportunities for upward mobility.
This is the sensibility of a child, an altruistic child that believes it's okay to be generous with other peoples money so you can perform social experiments on a few rats in your maze.
Paying people NOT to work and produce nothing gives them opportunities for upward mobility... Geeeze, what a complete AOC dope.

They’d better buy a gun with the first installment, since they’re now going to be targeted by those who aren’t in the 800

All the above are good points.
Add to that, what happens after two years when the household incomes now have that baseline? Just like EVERY welfare program, the takers will start crying about “their money being stole.”
The article claims without substantiation free $ does not go to ill purposes. I am sure an accounting would belie that assertion.
HERE is an idea on how to improve the financial life of colored people: Give all the women a quarter. Have them hold it between their knees until after their wedding. Inside of 10 years poverty would be banished.
PAYING for sloth and subsidizing stupid decisions is just buying votes.

“claims without substantiation free $ does not go to ill purposes.”
The way it works, is you buy something legit with your EBT/welfare card. Then you sell it back to the crooked store owner for cash at a 50% discount. Or trade for drugs.

One time in NJ I was across checkout lines in a grocery store with a Couple Of Colour and they shamelessly were buying for people in the neighborhood. “LaTricia wants bacon and Jamal asked for Steak,” etc. They overspent and just said “well trayvon will have to do without his Pop Tarts,” etc.
They held their easy to identify welfare EBT card in hand. Everyone in the store knew they were using taxpayers’ $$ to buy the stuff in exchange for .75 on the dollar in cash and/or drugs when they get home.

I am somewhat ashamed I helped an alcoholic friend of mine acquire cat food for his cat. I bought the cat food. he bought some stuff for me with his EBT.

Since “The Compton Pledge has so far divulged little about the details, such as who donated to support the program”, I can only think that this is going to be funded by donations(pledges).

Good. How many are getting a guaranteed income now? Probably tens of thousands.

yep, randomly picking only 800 out of a pool of thousands will definitely address inequalities by, get this, creating even MORE inequalities ...
