“Cases” is a useless datapoint.
IIRC recently the Fairfax VA teachers union demanded the schools remain 100% remote for the 2020-2021 academic year and only return it in person when no new cases for 14 days in the county or region, forgot which, and a vaccine.
They went to cases when hospitalization and deaths fell, needed something to keep the fear alive.
No doubt about it. Politicized doctors have ruined the credibility of the whole medical profession. Nobody knows what to believe after repeated contradictions and reversals, debunked predictions and ghastly refusals to use effective treatment regimen of HCQ.and adjunctive medications.
Polio still exists in the wild. Smallpox apparently not.

It’s not hard to imagine that DjT would dearly love to call out Fauci & COVID a fraud, but it would cost him dearly with the truly vulnerables: seniors, who DO vote.
