I don’t understand why the police don’t flank these rioters and trap them between two or more merging lines of advance? I would be simple in the downtown areas which are like canyons with only one way out.

Why were good old fashioned water cannons not used, since the beginning of all this 5 months ago, just as a way to control the crowds, (and in the bargain, maybe put out arson fires) Why oh why were these measures not employed? Yeah, I know, rhetorical question.
