Depending on what state you're in, it doesn't matter.
Like the lady who posted saying she was a teacher. When they confiscate a student's phone they have the student turn it off. They don't want to know what's on there - lest they have knowledge and get into legal trouble.
Sure, there are people with an obligation to report: teacher, lawyers, doctors, etc. a normal guy on the street? No legal obligation. Sure, there are plenty of moral reasons.
NONE of this sticks to Joe. NONE of it so far is illegal.
