The New Yorker magazine has suspended longtime staff writer Jeffrey Toobin after he inadvertently exposed himself during a virtual staff call last week over the messaging platform Zoom. Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended while we investigate the matter, a spokesperson told The Washington Post. Vice.com first reported the suspension on Monday afternoon. The magazine, which has employed Toobin since 1993, did not comment further about the nature of the incident or the length of the suspension. He will also be absent from his longtime television home, CNN, which has employed him as chief legal analyst, amid the incident. Jeff Toobin has asked for some time off while he deals with a personal issue, which we have granted, a CNN spokesperson said.

Um... WHAT WAS HE DOING?
And inadvertent? If he was doing that in a zoom meeting..... how was it inadvertent? Was he a participant in the meeting, or did his kid leave it on and he had no idea there was an iPad in the room?
Bwahaha
did not comment further about ... the length of the suspension. Hah, Hah!
But.... I thought the public had a right to know!
I’m really enjoying it!
Note to self, never log onto a “virtual staff call” with Jeffrey Toobin.
...or anyone named Biden...
Outed himself as a liberal tool.
Be honest, who hasn’t had THAT hapen in a zoom call at least half a dozen times?
It’s very embarrassing when this happens, especially when nobody notices.
If it was obviously accidental, I doubt he would be suspended. Taking little toobin out for playtime is just wrong.
"He was suspended as an internal personnel matter, but we don't think that there will be any fallout: There's just not much there to see."
/s
One of them was an employee on a client-facing meeting who either forgot or didn't realize his camera was on. While the client was speaking, this employee was making inappropriate gestures, basically showing his disgust and disagreement with what the client was saying!
The other one was also on an internal meeting and was sharing his screen. When the meeting ended, he never unshared his screen and went on to other browser tabs where there was might I say "work-inappropriate" material. Everybody else who remaining on the call, including his boss, got a good taste of his unorthodox web browsing habits.
Toobin steak
It’s a good thing we couldn’t see him in 1998 when he used to hang out at FR.
Brilliant!
spoke to friend in nyc media... toobin was on zoom call with the New Yorker and WNYC Radio — they were collabpratiing on (of all things) a piece to defend hunter biden... apparently Toobin is infatuated with one of the women on the call — he though he muted /turned of camera on zoom... opened some porn, opened his pants and began to pleasure himself... after just a few seconds others on the call screamed “your camera is on” and he shut it down — New Yorker and WNYC hopin got mitigate harm and “claw back” any screen captures....
Was it as a dishonorable discharge?
Yep, you know you’ve messed up when you become an unfortunate verb.
LOL. I just spit coffee on my computer.
