Special Advisor for Global Youth Issues Ronan Farrow will travel to Europe March 19-24, holding meetings in Belgium, Latvia, and Ukraine.

On March 23, Mr. Farrow will chair the inaugural meeting of U.S. Embassys Youth Council in Kiev, Ukraine. He will also deliver remarks at the Docudays International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival and meet with students. At the U.S. Ambassadors Forum on March 23, Mr. Farrow will lead a break out session with young leaders and law professionals looking at the next generation and the struggle against corruption. The Forum will feature a presentation by Beau Biden, Delaware Attorney General, on the topic “Fighting Corruption and the Judiciary.”

KYIV, Ukraine, March 21 — The U.S. Embassy issued the following news release:
Joseph R. “Beau” Biden, III, the 44th Attorney General of the state of Delaware, will speak on Fighting Corruption and the Judiciary as part of the U.S. Ambassador's Forum series, where leading American experts in a wide range of fields speak while visiting Ukraine. The Forum is hosted by Ambassador John Tefft and aimed at creating a regular opportunity for the examination of the ideas, trends, and forces impacting today's world.
Beau Biden, who is the son of U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, is known for his initiatives in Delaware to better protect children, families and communities across the state including tracking and prosecuting child sex offenders, fighting domestic violence, reducing juvenile crime and expanded efforts to fight nuisance crimes in neighborhoods across the state.
Beau Biden’s public service began at the United States Department of Justice in 1995. He served as a Federal Prosecutor in the United States Attorney's Office in Philadelphia, as Interim Legal Advisor for the United States Department of Justice in post-war Kosovo, and after having been elected Delaware's Attorney General in 2007, spent 12 months in Iraq as a major in the Delaware Army National Guard’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps, assigned to the 261st Signal Brigade. Beau Biden was engaged in private law practice from 2002 until his election as Attorney General.
The U.S. Ambassador's Forum event with Attorney General Biden’s presentation and discussion will take place at the Ball Room of the Hyatt Hotel (5 Alla Tarasova St.), Friday, March 23, from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m.

Del. AG Beau Biden on trip to Romania and Ukraine

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden is visiting Romania and the Ukraine this week as part of a trip in which he is speaking on the importance of the rule of law and an independent judiciary in democratic societies.
Biden, who had an appearance Tuesday at an anti-corruption conference in Bucharest, Romania, is expected to speak Thursday at the dedication ceremony for the new U.S. embassy in Bucharest. Biden was invited to speak at both events in Bucharest by U.S. Ambassador to Romania Mark Gitenstein.
Jason P. Miller, spokesman for Delaware's Department of Justice, also says Biden will be the featured speaker Saturday at a leadership series forum at the U.S. embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, hosted by U.S. Ambassador John Tefft.
The U.S. State Department is paying for Biden’s trip.
