My 5 cents; Thoughts from a Russian immigrant

These past twenty-nine years in the United States proved that the fairy tale land I’ve heard about is still the land of opportunity. This is the country where everyone has a chance for a good living, if they work at it. In the country I came from (Russia) we worked hard, but to no avail. The system did not reward the hard work, it favored those who sought wellbeing by becoming a part of the system, manipulating the system or becoming communist party members.

Since most of my life I lived in a country where socialism was at a very mature stage of 70 years, I experienced, firsthand, the way of living under such system. Young American people have no idea how unfair and inefficient such system is. They hear these loud slogans of fairness and sharing, but they do not take time to learn why the idea DOES NOT work. I experienced it on my own skin for 26 years.

...all good positions with “benefits” were taken by communist party members and people who knew people. Important to understand that due to standard wages across the board as there was only one employer — the government, people usually tried to look for jobs with “benefits” to better their lives.

Twice a month, if we were lucky, a truck with supplies would reach our [Siberian] village. We always knew what everyone would have for dinner that night. Not many people owned a refrigerator those days. So, if the truck brought chicken, we had to enjoy it that night. Every family in the village had a fair share of the sausage, sugar, apples or popular condensed milk cans according to their family size. Often we had to give up our portion as we could not afford to buy it.

This is one of many such articles by emigrants to the USA from Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Hungary, and North Korea. They all tell of the horrors of communism and how happy they are that they made it to the USA.

This is by a resident of Post Falls, Idaho near Coeur d'Alene. He speaks from his heart and is fearful about what the Democrats and antifa/BLM are planning for us in the USA.

I heartily recommend reading his entire essay. While reading it, keep in mind the Biden Crime Family and the Clinton Crime Family. In communist states, the Dear Leader Crime Family is even bigger and worse than it is in the USA...and it's gotten horrendously bad here.

A good reminder of those ugly days. My family was in a Soviet satellite country during those years. It was not quite as bleak materially, but the structure was similar. One of my relatives described it as a society divided into those who were watched and those who did the watching. That was before big Tech - imagine the possibilities now. Many of those who push for this kind of tyranny would end up impoverished by it, but many others would fall into the class of the privileged watchers who spy on neighbors and can be pressured into doing whatever the regime asks of them. People have no idea . . .

That is an excellent column, but none of the radicals who want to “burn it all down” will ever see it.

Interesting, I suppose Idaho is about as far as one can get from Communism in the United States.

It never was Marxist either. Not what Marx envisioned anyway. It was a murderous police state with a boot on everyone’s neck.

I remember, the Russian sailor on the RED OCTOBER crew defecting to America was going to go to Montana, buy a pickup truck and raise rabbits. Sadly, he got killed in the handgun battle in the missile tube bay and never got to Montana.

It just occurred to me, re your "Five Cents". It must be an indicator of inflation. Usually, when one speaks their mind on a subject, it's called "putting in your 2 cents worth". At your current price of 5 cents, that's 150% inflation. I'll admit, it's been years since anyone gave me their 2 cents worth, but it's still startling to find that talk is no longer as cheap as it was.🤔

It’s also interesting that a Russian emigre used “Five Cents.” Does he know it used to be Two Cents?

Obviously, Marxism is championed in America by people who visualise themselves as the controlling Apparatchik, living in luxury and lording it over the masses (guess who that is).

It's no coincidence that Democrat operatives who get their hair done while forbidding the masses to do so, who sell the influence of their offices to foreign interests, who destroy subpoenaed emails and computer files with impunity--all champion Marxism.

And it's no coincidence that these operatives are also cozy with the ruling oligarchy of Communist China.

Pray that the brainwashed Americans awaken from their trance in time to save America from a communist coup d'état on November 3, 2020.

Note tagline.

I think the left hates Trump for two reasons: 1) He is disrupting their sweet gravy train that has operated unmolested for DECADES and 2) a lot of those collecting their gravy could go to jail for their crimes (at least theoretically).

My only defense is that he’s been here a long time. OTOH, Maybe he’s a big tipper.
