We can call it a successful run as they did not collide with another ship.

Have the entire Pacific fleet sail through the Formosa straight with a strategic air wing of bombers flying overhead. Then have all the sailors moon China as they pass.

China’s Eastern Theater Command organized naval and air forces and tracked and monitored the USS Barry destroyer for the entire course.

Thereby giving every US or Allied Sigint and Elint collector in the theater of operations a hugh woody.

We do it because we can, and nobody can do anything about it.

Of course. China has 1.4 billion people while Taiwan has a mere 24 million.

“We do it because we can, and nobody can do anything about it.” Small correction, nobody DARES do anything about it. The Communists have the means to make this transit very difficult. They just don’t dare to do anything about it.
As President Trump correctly assessed many years ago, they need us far more than we need them.
Xi has seriously overplayed his hand. And, unlike the Deep State pansies, Trump is not backing off and giving them a Face Saving backdoor. Trump is pressing the issue in their face. This tactic upsets our State Dept. pansies to no end. A twofer.

It’s not the first time we’ve done this.

The real comparison is when you put US forces on the chart.

Taiwan’s not spending enough on its own defense.

The chart claims Taiwan has 2 subs. It actually has 4.

“They just don’t dare to do anything about it.”

That is because they realize as they game out all the scenarios, that after the first shot is fired they are outclassed and overwhelmed at every step of the escalation ladder.

And the first volley never comes...

That could really use some added stats:

- Total pop
- Number of other countries we’ve pissed off (PRC wins this one by miles!)
- miles of border with semi-hostile neighbors
- number of fronts of war we’ll have to fight if something starts

PRC may win everything in the graphic currently, but what about the technological factor between those numbers? Any force multiplication can be a huge leveler.

Xi has seriously overplayed his hand.

The current CCP leadership is obviously in over their heads, making mistake after mistake, then responding to internal dissent with brutal bullying. They are quickly turning into a huge North Korea. The worst aspect is stupid people never stop doing stupid things. They are very close to accidentally setting off major bloodshed.
