The judge in the George Floyd case is allowing the public to see video of a 2019 incident involving Floyd and Minneapolis police. Judge Peter Cahill said he did not think it would taint a potential jury.
Attorney for fired Minneapolis police officer Thomas Lane wanted the public to see the video. And the prosecution wanted to prevent it from becoming public. Three body cam videos were released that show different perspectives.
All show Floyd with Minneapolis police officers on May 6, 2019. Hes a passenger in an unlicensed stop, and he fails to comply with officers initial requests.
Put your hands on the dash. Im not going to shoot you, put your hands on the dash, an officer said as he pulls a weapon. Put hands on dash, the last time Im going to tell you that. Its simple.
Floyd complies, and another officer approaches.
Open your mouth. Spit out what youve got. Im going to tase you, an officer said.
I watched the entire 51 minute video. I heard Floyd crying, calling for his mother, he only got part way into the car at first but then went all the way in. At the police station he was still crying and the cops kept telling him to calm down and that he’s making the situation worse. The other black guy arrested totally cooperated and didn’t make a big fuss about anything.
It seems that Floyd was a big time drama queen. Thats not a good look when you are resisting lawful orders of police officers.
Thanks for posting this. I’m currently reduced to FReeping on my phone. Would take me forever.
This is going to be good.
One would think that they were watching a typical episode of “Cops”.
After everything has been destroyed, burned to the ground, people murdered over it, etc.
