NBC News to host town hall with Trump on Thursday [10-15-20-] 8pm EDT
NBC ^ | Oct 14, 2020 | NBC Staff

Posted on 10/15/2020 12:05:55 PM PDT by nikos1121

NBC News will host a live town hall with Republican presidential nominee President Donald Trump, moderated by Savannah Guthrie, in Miami on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. During the one-hour town hall, Guthrie will moderate a conversation between President Trump and a group of Florida voters on critical issues impacting their vote less than three weeks before Election Day.

The event will take place outdoors at the Pérez Art Museum Miami in accordance with guidelines set forth by health officials and consistent with all government regulations. NBC News has been given a statement by Dr. Clifford Lane, Clinical Director at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), indicating that he and Dr. Anthony Fauci have reviewed the president’s recent medical data, including a PCR test collected and analyzed by NIH on Oct. 13, and have concluded “with a high degree of confidence” that the president is “not shedding infectious virus.”

Both Guthrie and the president will be at least 12 feet apart from both each other and the audience. The audience will also be socially-distanced and required to wear face masks while on the premises, answer a symptoms questionnaire and take a temperature check prior to entering the outdoor venue. Every NBC News staffer will be tested on site on the ground in Miami.

The town hall will follow the same format and will air in the time slot as NBC News’ town hall with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, moderated by Lester Holt, held last Monday, Oct. 5. In addition to airing on NBC, the primetime event will also air across MSNBC and CNBC, stream on NBC News NOW and be available in Spanish on Telemundo’s digital platforms.

He does great with covid but I agree with health care. He should always turn it to prescription drugs (which is always a strong passionate answer for him). Can’t believe how rarely he connects those dots. Healthcare is meaningless unless you can afford the prescribed medication

This one was not a problem for me to watch. Trump killed it and was firing on all cylinders.

At beginning Savannah tried to take him out but Trump just chewed her up and spit her out. She was not effective and the liberals will probably not be happy with her performance.

At times Trump even said he agreed with Savannah or a liberal questioner but then restated the issue in a reasonable way. Trump was acting like a smooth politician at times and likely persuaded some people.

This was an effective version of Trump in that he wasn’t just preaching to the choir as he does sometimes but he was persuading.

Audience had to be irritated with Guthrie because she wouldn't let him finish answering the questions.

I was thinking no way someone married her, then I read her second husband is a democratic advisor.

Those corporate tax cuts, gave 90% of Walmart employees, an immediate raise to a higher minimum wage. Yet, every time that I visit Walmart, I hear those same employees complaining about our President.

...”The people in the room got very little time to ask questions - even if they were real people, and not pre-arranged plants.”

And not content to grandstand the first half hour, Gurthrie made sure she interjected herself into the townhall questions.

[Yes, he was awesome tonight! He appeared calm and cool while the screeching Savannah sniped at him continuously. He was able to say things that needed to be said to people who have most likely never heard them before.]

There is an incubation period for the bug. My feeling is that Trump was under the weather all through the debate with Biden, and his demeanor was of someone who was exhausted and trying to fight through the exhaustion. On TV, that showed up as bad-tempered and argumentative. I thought he did the right thing to get his message through, but the optics, according to my wife, who’s more attuned to these things, were not to his advantage.

It’s much more impressive when Trump humiliates the establishment media even though they stack the odds way against him and are blatantly unfair. It reminds me of the Colosseum scenes in Gladiator. The Emperor is not at all pleased with him, but the People love him.

Biden is doing well in his townhall. Of course it is an easy format. He can just recite without interruption.

Also the questions are leftist talking points and he is not being challenged at all.

Very sly of him. 2 commercial breaks in an hour for Trump. 2 breaks in 15 minutes for Sleepy.

Right. Very different than tonight, where he just seemed strong and not willing to take crap from a bunch of leftist featherweights.
