Looking to undermine rival Joe Biden 20 days before the election, President Donald Trumps campaign has seized on a tabloid story offering bizarre twists to a familiar line of attack: Bidens relationship with Ukraine. But the story in the New York Post raises more questions than answers, including about the authenticity of an email at the center of the story.
The origins of the story also trace back to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who has repeatedly pushed unfounded claims about Biden and his son, Hunter Biden. Even if the emails in the Post are legitimate, they dont validate Trump and Giulianis claims that Bidens actions were influenced by his sons dealings in Ukraine.
A look at the development:
HOW DID BIDENS SON BECOME A CAMPAIGN ISSUE?
Hunter Biden joined the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma in 2014, around the time his father, then vice president, was helping conduct the Obama administrations foreign policy with Ukraine.
Senate Republicans said in a recent report that the appointment may have posed a conflict of interest, but they did not present evidence that the hiring influenced U.S. policies.
Trump and his supporters, meanwhile, have advanced a widely discredited theory that Biden pushed for the firing of Ukraines top prosecutor to protect his son and Burisma from investigation. Biden did indeed press for the prosecutors firing, but thats because he was reflecting the official position of not only the Obama administration but many Western countries and because the prosecutor was perceived as soft on corruption.
WHAT DOES THE NEW YORK POST STORY SAY?
The main email highlighted by the Post is an April 2015 message that it said was sent to Hunter Biden by Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to Burismas board. In it, he thanks the younger Biden for inviting me to DC.

Fake News pretzel logic. How humiliating for them. Yellow Journalism of the 21st century. Ha ha.
Dubious, debunked, discredited
these words will be getting a healthy workout in the next couple of days.
Metadata please.
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Dubious!
VP’s son works for a company he is grossly underqualified for. Company is being investigated for mass corruption. VP has lead prosecutor fired. All of the above is just speculation.
Jeez these people are SHAMELESS.
Actual photos? NOPE YOU DIDN’T SEE THOSE.
Emails that can be corroborated? DEBUNKED.
When this election is over, and we win, I want to see heads on pikes.
So instead of investigating, we should blackball and cover it up.
Hmm.
We have e-mails, photos and a sex video. But it’s “dubious,” according to the Asshole Press.
Well, I guess that’s better than “debunked.”
Such a dubious story....havent the Bidens been charged in a Ukraine court?
And then...theres China
The media has shifted from “discredited” to “dubious” I see.
dubious Biden-Ukraine story”
AP never disappoints. Biden is on video bragging he extorted Ukraine and the prosecutor fired a-holes.
AP = Always Propaganda
Instead, the Biden camp has responded that the meeting wasn't on his "official calendar".....
But wait ... China is today’s story. And Iraq will becoming out too. It’s not just Hunter. It is entire Biden Crime Family. AP can eat schiff and die.
“Metadata please.”

I’m surprised that no one has thought to check that out until now; last I heard Republicans in the Senate have started to try to verify this stuff.
It's just amazing people can write something like this.
Only anonymous sources are believable. When an anonymous source has something to say - particularly when it is detrimental to the Trump administration - we get 24/7 wall to wall reporting. The Ap would never lie about their sources!
Concrete, verifiable evidence is not evidence at all. It’s “dubious” because only one subjective narrative is newsworthy. Simple concept.
