David Frum, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, is issuing a dire warning about the state of American democracy should President Donald Trump win a second term.
Writing in The Atlantic, Frum argues bluntly that America "wouldn't survive" a second Trump term, even as the country is limping to the finish of his first term.
In fact, Frum believes that Trump has already proven that an American president can get away with discarding guardrails in place to keep him in check without suffering significant political consequences.

I read another article written today with Obama using the word “guardrails” concerning Trump.
It must be the Democrats new code word.
Guardrails = The Democrats and the media need to control this guy.
What a low energy comment from Frum.
I actually wasted a few hours readings Frum’s “Dead Right”. His solution, as are his confreres’, is for the Republican Party to jettison the social right and to go more in a mildly libertarian direction. This former Canadian wants us to mimic the wildly successful Canadian Progressive Conservatives.
Why do these future inmates self-identify? You’d think they’d be packing their bags and looking for a hut on a Thailand beach with their 8 year old partners by now.
Middle class wealth is at an all-time high.
Mortgages rates are near historic lows.
I can’t remember anyone with such an apocalyptic premise grasping so desperately hard at straws to justify it. Lame, lame, lame.

- Gaia worshiping schemes thwarted
- Yurp freeloaders forced to pay more of their own way
- Big Tech busted up

The Deep State guardrails that were headed to socialism/communism were firmly in place under Bush when he passed the power to Obama.....Hillary was supposed to finish the Hi-speed Highway but “We the People” and Trump put up a STOP sign....
