“just happened”
That was my immediate reaction yesterday morning when I read the description of how the laptop contents got to Rudy. I wrote:
If this laptop were a painting, such provenance would make an art collector’s neck hair go a-crawling.

By evening a lot of people were talking about the provenance, because of all the unstated “just happened” points. J/h to be abandoned, j/h to have been brought to a repair shop in the first place, j/h to be turned over to FBI the day before the impeachment, j/h to be copied and sent to Rudy’s attorney...
Now, I trust RG, and it all could have j/h that way, but it does sound like a bulls-eye at five miles out and divine wind at its back.
A clean straightforward hack would have been much more plausible.

Bottom line: It was all too easy.
