Side story:

I have a friend who rides a bike everywhere. He had a video camera on the side of his helmet.

One day this past summer a car turned right, cutting him off and he went over the hood of the car. He had to go to the hospital and had some bones in his hand broken.

The police showed up at the scene. They saw he had a video camera and asked if they could “copy” the SD card. He agreed.

Two weeks later, he is told his video was lost. He also found out the guy who turned into hi was an off duty cop.

When I spoke to my friend, he told me that he had his laugh of the year when his lawyer was shown the video that was ALSO recording on his phone. I guess the lawyer for the off duty cop, and the lawyer for the police department were also pretty “surprised” to see the whole thing on his phone.

It’s interesting when police “lose” stuff. But they need to be smarter about how they store this stuff.

Corrupt police story....
Could have turned out much worse.

I officially do not trust anyone now. Except (most) FReepers and my wife.
