I hunt in NYS on the PA border. We buy our beer in ny and everything else in PA. (We don’t drink beer till AFTER we’re done hunting for the day).

So you are saying we can buy beer in supermarkets now in PA?

It depends on the market. Not all of them have the approval, but some are approved to sell beer and wine. There are limits on the quantity in any single purchase, so if you want a case of beer you still need to go to a distributor. If you want a six-pack, there are take-out food places or groceries that will sell them to you. I've never had anyone bat an eye if I go in twice or my husband and I each buy one. I have no idea how widely distributed the licenses are in more rural areas. It's easy enough to find them in the suburbs.

Some grocery stores and convenience stores can sell 12-packs and wine in limited quantities now.

But it’s a ridiculous amount of regulation...have to buy them in certain check out lanes, limited to 12 beers per transaction, can only buy it within certain hours...

It’s draconian.
