No adverse side-effects have been reported among the volunteers of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine have been observed so far, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) has said.

Fifty-three persons, participating in the Covid-19 vaccine trials at the Chandigarh's PGIMER, have not reported any major side effects seven days after being vaccinated, a report in The Hindustan Times said. Coronavirus Live Updates

The report added that the institute had screened 97 volunteers on Thursday. Of these, 65 had already been vaccinated since September 25 when the institute started administering the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine candidate to volunteers.

"Among 65 volunteers [of the Covid-19 vaccine candidate] given the first dose, 53 participants have already completed seven days post-vaccination without any major side effects," the spokesperson was quoted by saying by the report.

The institute is likely to administer the Covid-19 vaccine to around 300 volunteers in phase 2 and 3 of the observer-blind, randomised, controlled study to determine the safety of Covishield (Covid-19 vaccine) and its immunogenicity (ability to provoke immune response) in healthy Indian adults, the report added.

The late phase trials of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, dubbed as Covishield, are underway in at PGIMER.

The PGIMER, Chandigarh, is one of the 17 sites where Phase 2 trials of Covishield are being conducted.

It has been sponsored by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India, which is the world's largest vaccine producer by the number of doses produced. The SII is co-sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

53 in a nation of 1.5 billion is not a valid sample size.

Ok, now lock them in a New York nursing home and see how many are dead in a week.

You want to vaccinate anyone under 30? Give them COVID. I know, there's a few people who would get an adverse reaction to the Chicom Cooties, but it seems to me that if someone were to get a full physical, find out any underlying conditions, then give them the COVID, they'll be over it in a day or two.

Older folks, cancer patients, fat people, high blood pressure, NO, don't try it.

So you expect to be taking seriously by advocating the unethical intentional infection of people but balk at a vaccine that is known to be dead virus that stimulates the same response

Ooooookkkkkkk

RE: You want to vaccinate anyone under 30? Give them COVID.

Just expose them to the virus somewhat and their immune system does the rest.

Last spring when 70,000 college kids went to Florida Spring break and got the Chicom cooties, TWO were hospitalized. None died.

The people dying are old, have pre-existing conditions, are overweight. I'm 58 and got COVID October 1. I've had sinus infections that are worse.

I am virtually certain that I caught it the day after Thanksgiving last year, before anyone acknowledged that it was even in this country. I had terrible respiratory symptoms that dragged into January.

I’m in Pittsburgh and we have a huge population of ChiCom university students here.

That’s a lovely misdirection. You are advocating actually infecting people. It’s unethical. And it achieves the same goal as a vaccination. Namely herd immunity.

You give them Vitamin D, B-12, and the Hydroxychlorquine z-pac along with the virus, and most all of them would have immunity from the Chicom Cooties.

Yes, and that created additional clusters which did cause serious illness. If they only associated with themselves and no one else, fine. But that didn’t happen.

It’s not a valid sample in a nation of any size—over about 53, of course!

Okay, we get it...You're S-s-s-s-cared of a glorified sinus infection with a 98.5% survival rate.

Let's continue to destroy the lives of millions because the Chinese Communists let loose a virus on the world.

That’s not a response to what I said - what you said was totally bogus and had no point to it.

And calling it a “glorified sinus infection” is beyond absurd. You should never be taken seriously again.

That’s a lovely misdirection. You are advocating actually infecting people. It’s unethical. And it achieves the same goal as a vaccination. Namely herd immunity.

A vaccine does not achieve herd immunity. To achieve herd immunity, the immunity must be life-long.

The immunity derived from vaccines is short-lived, often waning well before the "season" is over.

Herd immunity requires that at any given time a certain percentage of the populace has immunity. That can never be achieved with vaccinations since they are given randomly and as stated before, the immunity once given most likely won't last and must be administered yearly.

I think you are a physician, right? Can you please tell me what other pharmaceuticals you recommend to your patients without knowing whether or not they need it? Do you encourage or even order antibody titers for flu, etc before recommending vaccination? If not, why not?

Except your cocktail doesn’t work all the time particularly in late phase disease.

So let’s infect people then treat them with an imperfect regiment. That’s an awesome idea. And totally unethical

And a vaccine would do the same without infecting people and do it quicker. So can I count on you to support a vaccine when it is approved in the next couple weeks?

Regardless of the accompanying cocktail, intentionally giving a deadly virus to someone is just wrong, unethical, and stupid. You wouldn’t be a survivor of Aids bug chasing, would you?

A vaccine does not achieve herd immunity.

Then what exactly do you think a vaccine does? I am dying to know
