Interesting, in CA neither pain and suffering of the wrongful death heirs, nor punitive damages, can be recovered in wrongful death actions. Per a little quick research, both are allowed in CO. I’m usually the first to throw cold water around here ion unrealistic expectations as to what can be achieved in lawsuits. In this case I think the station has a real problem on its hands, hiring an unlicensed gunman to provide security in circumstances where the danger is self evident
