the Republicans have been a big disappointment so far. They read their opening statements as if they have never seen them before
Hopefully that just means they already know how they are going to vote so there was no point in spending a lot of time on it.

Even if they already know how they are going to vote, that is a pitiful excuse for the poor showing by some R Senators today. Democrats use every opportunity to help their cause. Expecting a senator to have pre-read the statement he was going to be making at the hearing is not asking too much.
