SEOUL North Korea a nation known for springing surprises upon the world has done it again.
A mighty military parade was widely anticipated today, the 75th anniversary of the Workers Party of Korea. But as the hours ticked by on Saturday nothing was seen. Only in late evening, did state media broadcast the event, which appeared to have taken place earlier in the day.
Highly unusually, the parade had clearly taken place in darkness.

Maybe a rehearsal?
Well, everyone in North Korea knows Kim can do anything, including see in the dark. He doesn’t need daylight to see the parade. ;-)
Wuhan flu isn’t out during the night.
“In case ypu blinked and missed it, here is footage of today’s parade...”
I think he just decided on a whim, “I think that this time, we will have the big parade at nighttime. Any objections?”
And of course, his general staff, not wanting to be strapped to the front of an anti-aircraft gun or be thrown to wild dogs, all said “Absolutely, Dear Leader!”
He did it because he could.
That’s a body double. Has to be.
He reminds me of the chubby baby boys, depicted on the Chinese New Year calendars.
He seems to exude more youthful happiness than would reasonably be expected after a few decades of ordering and witnessing executions.
My first thought was that Kim is trying to deny satellite/spy plane/drone photos of his weapons.
The question is why ?
My first thought when I saw the photo. I’ve never seen him in a gray suit, either.
I thought their “leader” was indisposed and his sister was running the regime...
Totally agree, but probably to deny spies hiding in building from taking pictures with cameras through peep holes or along that line.
This cant be him! This dude looks too healthy.
I’d bet that this strategy was developed and ordered by his very healthy & evil sister...
I’m thinking KJU didn’t want our satellites to see much detail on his ICBM’s.
