There is a vast distinction between being affected by same-sex attraction and being “gay.” The latter has far more culpable implications.

“Gay” infers that a person embraces their condition as morally neutral and engages in the associated behavior without apology. It is a political term, and as such, is condemnable to the highest degree possible.

Every “gay” person is same sex-attracted, but not every same sex-attracted person is “gay.” I hope that distinction is clear enough.

The distinction you make between the two terms is irrelevant to most people outside of Christian or therapeutic circles. I have identified as both gay and same sex attracted at different times in my life. Had I been condemned and not loved when I identified as gay, things could have turned out quite differently for me.

I’d also like to know; condemnable by whom? And why is it to “the highest degree possible?”
