Debate Schedule Changes With Oct. 15 Debate Canceled
uspresidentialelectionnews ^ | October 9, 2020 | Nate Ashworth

Following the announcement that the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) was revising the format of the Oct. 15 debate to become a “virtual” event, with candidates appearing from remote locations, President Trump said he wouldn’t be participating. This decision put the entire debate schedule in flux, with former Vice President Biden quickly scheduling a Town Hall event on with ABC News on Oct. 15 instead of the debate.

As a result, the next Presidential Debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden will not be held until Oct. 22. The President is also trying to add a third debate, on Oct. 29, but the Biden campaign has said they will not agree to participate.

As it stands now, the Oct. 22 debate might be the final time the candidates meet on the debate stage before Election Day, according to The Hill:

An extended back-and-forth between the campaigns threw the presidential debate schedule into chaos Thursday, raising the question: Will there even be another debate?

There are health concerns clouding the future of the potential face-offs, given the extraordinary situation that one of the candidates, President Trump, currently is infected with a contagious and potentially deadly virus.

Plus, he aggressively pushed the Tariff act to China, so they sent a bio-weapon upon us.

Are we having fun yet?

We are talking tens of millions reached by radio just today alone

You think it's good news that Trump needs to spend his day shoring up the talk radio audience?

Trump’s SCOTUS appointments are no better than the ones Hillary would have made? Semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines being either banned or added to the NFA, federal gun licensing and registration, that would be fine with you? Do you want to pay higher taxes (Trump May not have cut taxes drastically for many people but he hasn’t raised them) as Biden is promising? Do you want more foreign wars? Trump’s admin put rules in place to prevent any facility receiving federal Title X funding from being an abortion provider. Dozens of abortion centers have closed as a result. He has appointed pro-life judges. He has banned foreign aid for abortion. Beyond that, there’s not much he can do except work to put judges in place to overturn Roe v. Wade — and it case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know we have Trump to thank for soon-to-be Supreme Court Justice Barrett, who is staunchly pro-life.

Promises made, promises kept. Trump has everyone, including his own party and the entire bureaucratic apparatus of our vast government, fighting against him. It’s amazing he has gotten anything done, but he has.

What a coincidence, every Oct. 15th during an election year our family implements a self imposed election news blackout until election night.

When you get someone who clearly loves the country that’s who you choose. Don’t have to agree with everything he does. Trump can’t unilaterally change laws but pushing 200 judges is a good start in terms of stopping them from msking laws up. If Trump wins (and Repukes hold the Senate) he will replace Thomas, maybe Alito and probably Breyer. The court will no longer be a Democrat play thing for decades. If you love the country this is a very big deal and a game changer. I don’t think that’s something you should give up lightly. As far as I’m concerned, pay for your own Healthcare but if that’s important to you I’d still say it’s a luxury when compared to the destruction of the foundational institutions of the Republic.

The idea that it’s not important is silly. Biden won’t rule out packing the court because he’s trying to sure up crazy leftist. The reality is, those who ignore there own base WILL lose. Trump needa to get 3.1m votes in PA and about 2.4m votes in MI to pull this off. Running up the score in rural areas works just as well as closing the gap in the cities. Its about hitting your numbers. Polls are not the right metric. Turnout. If you know people who are in the Trump camp, make sure you get them to vote.

I don’t think they would want a moderator who doesn’t at least lean left.

It’s become evident that the Debate org is a leftist organization.

Best to have them out of the picture.

Debates should be set up by the political partys that have candidates in the debates.

I disagree.

They sure don’t appear bipartisan by their actions

More accurate favoring the left

And very arrogant the way they do it.

The debates should be set up by the partys involved

Not an outside org.

But the fact remains, people who had Trump signs on their lawns in 2016 have Biden signs now.

Do you have some evidence to cite?

Over the last 4 years, supporting Trump, in many places in the country, has become dangerous for the voter. Their car can be keyed. The sign can be stolen. They can become pariahs on social media.

I avoid political exposure due to business concerns. I run my own company, and do not wish to give anyone with a different viewpoint a reason to refuse to hire me. I do not respond to polls - most are push-polls in any case, and many are thinly disguised quests for money. What benefit does an American Patriot derive from loudly proclaiming their support for the most American President in modern history?

Your post gives cover for the cowardly Biden strategy of hiding in his basement, waiting for Kamala to overtake the oval office. (In my humble opinion)

From most areas of the country (based on comments from this board), you are backwards in your assessment. Biden signs are few and far between, but Trump flags, signs, parades, flotillas, et al. are common.

You live in Massachusetts, IIRC. That is not America. (Consider Teddy “Chappaquidick” Kennedy before you reply.)

“mostly bipartisan” just like “mostly peaceful”. You don’t get the joke.

I agree that lots of debates are good—traditional exposure, as you say. I hope at least there is a second one. And Pence did great. Trump did great at the first one too, other than interrupting a bit too much. As he said though, he needed to interrupt due to all the lies.

How much are you paid to repeat this garbage on each thread on FR? This is the second or third thread I have seen where you repeat this allegation WITHOUT EVIDENCE to persuade patriots to not vote or support their chosen candidate for President.

What is you major malfunction?
