When I was in high school one of my friends had a mina bird. I’d be in the back yard and hear someone calling me. Run into the house....and it was the bird. It did that all the time. Sounded just like her mom calling us. lol Another of it’s faves was....help! Would sound just like a member of the family calling for help.
We babysitted one over a winter for some friends. I kept trying to teach him to say — Make Love to Lucy—, When they returned I gave them the bird back. She turned it loose outside a week later. I guess he did learn how to say it.
Poor bird
We had an African Grey bird. That thing could mimic any sound and hundreds of them.
Some people are just not built with a connection to birds. I feel bad for them.
