[Senator Susan Collins would boost her chances for re-election, if she decided to vote to confirm Amy Barrett to the SCOTUS.]

I get all your points but do expect Collins to pull it out (avoiding a Democrat-run senate) and Trump to win the 2nd congressional district. I don’t like it but she’s got to win.
If she loses, I will look at the bright side—a wobbler will be out.
Maine has been trending purple in recent years.
The democrat controlled Maine House and the (then) GOP controlled Maine Senate passed Constitutional Carry in 2015. The same bill legalized switch blades. Many red states don’t have Constitutional Carry.
The 2nd district here in Maine....80% of the state....was carried by Trump by 10 points in 2016, which netted him one electoral vote. Pickles Clinton carried the more liberal 1st district, 20% of Maine’s land mass in the southeast corner of the state. Madame Hillary won the statewide popular vote by 2.9%. If candidate Trump had advertised more here, he may have carried the whole state.
The 1st district is more like Massachusetts....it’s not far away in a geographical sense.
The 2nd district is more conservative...Second Amendment country, although we have our pockets of liberals, mostly near the coast.
