Sure. My opinion is that they were all in on it from the beginning. Saying the sources were Russian just gives them "plausible deniability," dissociating themselves from a plot they were either very much involved in, or at least were well aware of and cheering on.

Why would Brennan give such a briefing? i.e. he is saying "we're going to do some criminal activity, ok?"

True!.....but if things REALLY get exposed, I think one of the reasons that Brennan, Clapper, Comey and Rosenstin are so cocky and writing books about their” virtue” is their defense is gonna be they were just following orders of the POTUS.....Plead Mercy from the court..
