"Luther quickly went from an oppressed and targeted small business owner to the face of tyrannical lockdowns happening across the country. She traveled to Michigan after her own release to speak out on behalf of an elderly barber who had been targeted by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and her own Democrat henchmen in the state."
Sounds like we got us a p*ssed-off-for-being-p*ssed-on leader-type. I like it!

If someone called me selfish as a kid I’d say: Do you want to buy a nice pickerel?
Nah, I didn’t say that, it’s a whopper. But I wish I had.

What a title.
She is not “embattled” at all. That was long ago in May.
She is kicking butt and taking names at the moment.

A quick search reveals that she will make more as a hair stylist than she would as a state senator. AFAIK, the TX legislature only meets for a handful of weeks a year, and they earn about $600 a week. She could make more in a day doing hair. So I say good for her. She can make her mark, and still keep her day job. I wish the US Congress would do the same. Except Jerry Nadler, who would probably be spreading diabetes across the country if he didn’t win a legislative seat.

Her runoff opponent worked as a lobbyist, and ran smear commercials against her saying she wasn't really a Trump supporter.
Uhhh, until she got jailed, she was never in politics at all.

Always refreshing (and surprising) to find a Republican politician with balls...

I am cheering but not convinced of the final outcome.
She got the most votes, among six candidates, and another Republican came in second, and will be her opponent in the general election. (crazy texas election laws).
Luther’s winning depends most of all and where the voters for the other four candidates will go. If most of those votes are Dims, they may choose which of the two Republicans seem less Republican to them. In this political climate Luther’s Republican opponent may seem “safer” to the Dims that have to chose between two Republicans.
