Revelation clearly speaks of a mark that is added to one's face or hand.

The pattern on my hand was placed there by God and grew naturally. You can believe whatever you want about the pattern on your hand.

PLUS, why wouldn't facial recognition be in the same category? The mark in Revelation can be either on the forehead or on the hand.
