I had my tonsils and adenoids out around age 6 or 7. I remember the (what seemed like) endless ginger ale and vanilla ice cream!

I remember around age 11 and 13. Chipped beef on toast and green Jell-O. Maybe one little round tub of ice cream.

I had that done at age 52. They send you home almost immediately which is great. I did have a bleed almost 6 weeks later and had to be cauterized...trying to go back to regular diet too fast I suppose.
Much easier when you’re a kid.
