Frankly if you're not working one needs to get ‘whatever work is available’ and be actively seeking what they otherwise want. That's what most people do who are not eager to be on unemployment.......they forget that long term unemployment is recognized by employers when they see that on your application....often taken as a red flag.
You my friend are a dinosaur, suggesting people take whatever work they can find. Really, I have a degree in Racial Discrimination History and am a licensed Barrista and you want me to take a high paying job doing whatever? How dare you..../sarc/
I live very comfortably, but was raised to believe that men work and being on unemployment is embarrassing. I have done some really $hitty jobs in my life, but now live comfortably. That was my white privilege, work your ass off until you get some where in life.
