Concerning the 2018 Red Wave/Blue Wave...off year elections are rarely good for the party with the presidency. It is just the fickle nature of the voters. Their guy is in charge and they just sit back and get lazy and don’t go to the polls, while the other side is in offense mode to turn the tide so to speak. I think many Freepers were a little too high from election night 2016 and were expecting a repeat.

So the Dems were in full combat mode in 2016 and were able to throw boatloads of money in to certain key races.

Exactly! We actually did pretty well in 2018 by picking up two Senate seats. Most sitting Presidents lose seats in both of the Houses. But with Trump on the ticket we will see millions of voters who had voted show up at the polls.
